Fall is upon us, which means Christmas will be here before you know it! With this in mind, please consider contributing to the Christmas Celebration at your child’s school. With these donations, each school will be able to have a Christmas party at the end of the year. In some cases, this is the only Christmas celebration these children will experience. As mentioned previously, students returned to school in Haiti. They recently had year-end exams and finished up their 2019-2020 school year. On October 26 they will start their new school year! In Jamaica and Guatemala, schools have not been cleared to re-open at this time. Staff in these schools make diligent efforts to provide some form of distance learning, but there are many obstacles to overcome.
We are working on sending out specific school updates to each of you, our HOLD the Children sponsors. Please be on the lookout for a special piece of mail with information on your sponsor child’s school and a general update on your child! These letters will be sent out mid-October. Thank you for your support and continued giving. Every donation you make helps change the life of a child in need.
