{"id":3108,"date":"2023-09-01T09:47:00","date_gmt":"2023-09-01T15:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.holdthechildren.org\/?post_type=news&#038;p=3108"},"modified":"2023-09-25T09:48:24","modified_gmt":"2023-09-25T15:48:24","slug":"september-2023","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.holdthechildren.org\/news\/september-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"SEPTEMBER 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pictured above, school is back in session throughout all HOLD schools!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Our Port de Paix Schools in Northern Haiti are up and running smoothy- thankfully things remain quiet and calm in this area of the country.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The same is true of our Christian Alliance School in the northeast area of the country.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Near the capital of Port au Prince, life continues to be more of a challenge everyday.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Our Onaville School has had to move locations in order for children to attend safely.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>They are temporarily meeting in a different area; we are thankful children can get there safely and continue receiving their education, as well as a hot meal every school day.<\/p>\n<p>In Jamaica, students enjoyed their summer break, and have recently returned for the new school year.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Also in Jamaica, our Victory Christian Fellowship preschool continues teaching young ones and preparing them for primary school in the coming years.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>They are all so excited to be back at school with their friends!<\/p>\n<p>In Guatemala, students had a short break and have returned as well- but they are on a different schedule.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Their classes have resumed continuing on in their school year that began in January, and their school year will wrap up later in the fall.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Teachers are working hard to prepare their students for year-end exams. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s hard to believe, but with fall now here, Christmas is on the way!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span><b>Please donate to the Christmas Celebrations in our HOLD Schools before December 1.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b> Thank you for considering this additional donation.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The Christmas Celebrations in our schools, in many cases, are the only festivity of the season for these students living in extreme poverty. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Thank you for all you give!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Your donations and ongoing support make the ministry of HOLD, His Outreach for Learning and Development, possible.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Thank you!<\/p>\n<address>Gratefully in His Hold,<\/address>\n<address>Courtney Carrigan<\/address>\n<address>HOLD the Children Director<\/address>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":3109,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.4 -
