{"id":3106,"date":"2023-08-01T09:44:53","date_gmt":"2023-08-01T15:44:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.holdthechildren.org\/?post_type=news&#038;p=3106"},"modified":"2023-09-25T09:46:51","modified_gmt":"2023-09-25T15:46:51","slug":"august-2023","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.holdthechildren.org\/news\/august-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"AUGUST 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pictured above, children in the Capva School in Haiti gathered for VBS last month!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This school is in Cite Soleil, Haiti, and 300 children from the community came to participate in VBS.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Twenty-five school staff members helped make this possible.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Children came and learned about Jesus and were able to receive a hot meal in the process.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>This is such encouraging news, given that the country is still in turmoil and the struggles abound everyday.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>But last month, these kids got to be kids and enjoyed some time with their friends learning about God!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We have several other schools throughout Haiti; they are currently closed for their summer break.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Schools re-open in September.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Our HOLD Home Orphanage continues providing for children in need who have no place to call home.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We are so grateful for all who give to make our HOLD Home possible.<\/p>\n<p>In Jamaica, we had several Mission Discovery teams serve at JCSD and at VCF last month!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Volunteers served in countless ways as they interacted with students.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Buildings were worked on and repaired, VBS programs took place, and so many lives were impacted!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Students at JCSD will be back at school in September as well.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In Guatemala, we had several Mission Discovery teams serve at Kairos and in the surrounding community.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Several homes were built for families in need, and a huge medical clinic provided care for hundreds of individuals in need of health care!<\/p>\n<p>God has done great things throughout the summer as hundreds of participants have joined us on mission trips here in the US and in other parts of the world. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Thank you for all you give!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Your donations and ongoing support make the ministry of HOLD, His Outreach for Learning and Development, possible.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Thank you<\/p>\n<address>Gratefully in His Hold,<\/address>\n<address>Courtney Carrigan<\/address>\n<address>HOLD the Children Director<\/address>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":3107,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.4 -
