We\u2019ve had multiple teams serving at JCSD this summer and the school is so grateful.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>They are wrapping up their school year and preparing for graduation.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>So many of you, our JCSD sponsors, make education possible for these kids!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In Onaville, Haiti the gangs are now passing through the town, more or less.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Many families have been able to return, but police are still working to enforce more security throughout the town to keep gangs from coming and going.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>The Onaville school has not been able to operate and looks to re-open in September with the new school year.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Our other schools throughout Haiti have remained open for the majority of this school year and are now gearing up for end-of-year testing.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>They will close for their summer break later this month and then re-open for the new school year in September.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We are grateful students have been able to continue attending school throughout this year.<\/p>\n<p>Our HOLD Home Orphanage in Port de Paix, Haiti is sending out some of our older residents this month.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>There will be room for younger residents to come in.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Please pray for all our kids who have grown up in the home and are now venturing out into their independent lives.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In Guatemala, we have several Mission Discovery teams serving this summer!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Teams have gotten to help at the school as well as build homes for families in need.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We even have our first Guatemala medical mission trip taking place this month!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>We are excited to see how the Lord uses this specific ministry in a powerful way as our teams serve the Kairos community in Guatemala. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Thank you for all you give!<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Your donations and ongoing support make the ministry of HOLD, His Outreach for Learning and Development, possible.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Thank you<\/p>\n<address>Gratefully in His Hold,<\/address>\n<address>Courtney Carrigan<\/address>\n<address>HOLD the Children Director<\/address>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":3105,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>JULY 2023 - Hold The Children<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/www.holdthechildren.org\/news\/july-2023\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_US\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"JULY 2023 - Hold The Children\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"Pictured above, students at JCSD were so excited to have Mission Discovery teams serve there last month!
