{"id":1049,"date":"2019-07-03T11:35:38","date_gmt":"2019-07-03T16:35:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.holdthechildren.org\/news\/july-2019\/"},"modified":"2023-07-07T12:04:54","modified_gmt":"2023-07-07T18:04:54","slug":"july-2019","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.holdthechildren.org\/news\/july-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"July 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Cambria;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Several of our schools had beautiful graduation ceremonies to wrap up their school year at the end of last month!\u00a0 Many students moved up from preschool into the official Kindergarten programs in each school and others moved on from our schools into high school.\u00a0 HOLD Schools will now be on their summer break until the beginning of September.\u00a0 Many students enjoy going to school, especially when it means they get a hot meal.\u00a0 This means summer break is not exactly something to look forward to.\u00a0 For most of us, summer means vacation and time with family.\u00a0 Where many of our HOLD schools are located, summer means children will have to look after themselves while mom or dad try to find daily work.\u00a0 Children sometimes go hungry without a reliable meal from school.\u00a0 Pray for our students and each of their safe return to school in September. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;\">\n<p style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: Cambria;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">In Jamaica, I recently lead a team of nearly 80 participants in serving at our Jamaica Christian School for the Deaf.\u00a0 We made great progress on the construction of the vocational training center there.\u00a0 We also helped in classrooms and spent time with students.\u00a0 It was a wonderful week seeing all that God continues to do at JCSD.\u00a0 Thank you for your support that makes the operation of these schools possible; we could not do this without your prayers and financial support! <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5,"featured_media":2951,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.4 -
