During a recent trip to Port au Prince, Haiti Stan Horrell, my Mission Discovery colleague, and I visited a tent village just outside the walls of New Life Children’s Home, where Stan leads Mission Discovery service projects. community that needs the help of HOLD the children. There are 135 families in this community of tents. As we met with the leaders of the village, I asked, how many children are in the village? The answer was 350. My next question was how many are in school? The response was 20. These families have been living in tents since the earthquake of January 2010. Because they can’t afford the tuition, books or uniforms required to attend school these children are destined to the trappings of illiteracy. HOLD is working with Pastor Gespere Noel and his organization, Institution Mixte Philadelphia (IMIPHI) to help these children get into school. Pray about how God wants us to respond.
