At the beginning of October there was a large earthquake in northern Haiti near our HOLD the Children Home.  We are grateful for God’s provision in protecting all our children and staff at the Home; none of them were injured.  The Home did sustain damage, but our children are able to continue living there.  There are many cracks in walls throughout the building and surrounding security wall.  I will be visiting the Home this month and will keep you updated on findings as it relates to repairing the earthquake damage.  Also while there, I will be visiting several of our HOLD schools in the Port de Paix and Port au Prince areas of Haiti.  I would love your prayers over this weeklong administrative trip at the beginning of November.

I recently returned from the Jamaica Christian School for the Deaf where I lead two weeks of mission trips.  God was so clearly at work; I was humbled to be part of all He is doing there.  Thank you to all who gave to help provide water at JCSD.  Students only missed one week of school due to lack of water.  They have now returned and they are doing very well.  While there, a former student who graduated from JCSD in 2016 visited.  He was one of the first sponsored children in the school, pictured above on the left.  He is now 22 years old, fully deaf, and is working as a chef at a local restaurant in town, pictured above on the right.  He is independent and taking great care of himself.  Thank you for giving to make stories like his possible.
