Several of the kids have begun attending Baracca High School this year and are doing exceptionally well.  We are so proud of them.  Next school year there will be six more children moving on to high school.  Most kids in Haiti do not go to high school, but we want our kids to have every chance to succeed that we can give them.  The cost for our kids to attend high school is $75 a month per child.

We are about to start construction on the transitional homes for the older students.  These cottages will provide a setting to teach the children how to live as a family, sharing in the responsibility of caring for a home.  We will also provide them with vocational skills that will help them be successful when they leave the Home.  Helps International Ministries has begun working on the blueprints for the cottages and we are planning to break ground during our team visit in April.  The two transitional homes are estimated to cost $90,000-$100,000.  We will trust God to provide the resources for the homes.

Several of our kids were recently hospitalized with cholera.  Most are well on the way to recovery for which we give God thanks; however, the doctor and hospital bills have put a real crunch on our budget.

Our team of 15 will be visiting the Home in just a few weeks, on April 3.  In addition to renewing friendships with the kids, the team will be helping to clear the ground for the transitional homes.

Prayer requests:

  • Students attending high school; cost is $75 a month for each student
  • Financial support for construction of the transitional homes
  • Children would continue to recover from cholera
  • That God will provide the money to pay doctor and hospital bills
  • Safety for the team of 15 going to Port de Paix in April

If you are able to help financially with any of these, please visit www.holdthechildren.org/donate Thank you and please keep us in your prayers.
