On November 10th last year, our team of 25 people was ready to depart on our annual trip to visit the Christian Alliance School in Cap Haitien, Haiti.  In just two days we would be with our Haitian friends.  Then word came that serious flooding was occurring in Cap and the forecast was for torrential rain to continue for several more days.  The roads in Cap were impassible and the airline cancelled flights.  We had to postpone our trip.  Pastor Bazile, our host in Cap Haitien, had arrived several days earlier and was now in the middle of a serious disaster.  Homes and possessions were washing away; people were dying.  Food and water were scarce.  People had nowhere to go to get out of the floodwater.  Our HOLD sponsor school, CAS, became a safe place for more than 200 people.  The people were dry, but they were hungry.  Supplies and money for our postponed trip were released to Pastor Bazile to help feed those staying at the school.  Jehovah Jira, God provided for these families.

A few weeks ago, our team of 24 finally made it to Cap Haitien for an incredible week with the kids at the Christian Alliance School.  We were more than three months late, but right on time.  Many children were suffering from parasites from the dirty floodwaters.  We wanted to provide medical attention to the children.  So Gary Stannis, an active HOLD advocate, made a presentation in New York to Ameri-Cares, requesting medications for the children.  We were given thousands of doses of medications, but needed someone qualified to administer them.  God then brought Mary Hall James, a professional medical care provider, and Lindsay Glass from Cadiz, KY to our team.  They examined and treated more than 500 children and adults.  For most of these children, this was the only medical attention they had ever received.  To God be the glory.
