HOLD August News: It has been a longer summer than usual for all of us, especially the students in our HOLD schools. We are grateful that re-opening dates are set! Some will re-open toward the end of this month, and others will re-open at the beginning of September.
Many changes have had to be made due to covid, especially in Jamaica at our Jamaica Christian School for the Deaf. The Department of Health has put strict guidelines in place and in order for JCSD to comply, many updates have to be made. These come at a cost. We are thankful for generous churches and individuals who have given to make these updates possible. Sanitizing stations are being created in each classroom. Students will no longer be able to stay at JCSD through the weekend, and the ones who live nearby will have to go home at the end of each school day. We are so grateful for the JCSD staff, and the staff in all our schools and orphanage, for their hard work in making this new school year possible.
We had a small Mission Discovery team serve the nearby town of Westmoreland last month; we are grateful for their willingness to serve and help a family in need here in our area. With that, mission trips are completed for the summer, and most likely for the year. Thank you for your support and giving during this time! Because of you, we are able to continue the life-changing ministry of HOLD the Children!!
