This guy, Widley, is such an entertainer!  He keeps things lively at the HOLD Home and can usually be found in the middle of a group putting smiles on their cute faces with silly jokes and dance moves.  He likes to dance and listen to music and one of his signature trademarks are his shorts pants…There are plenty of clothes to go around at the Home, but for whatever reason, Widley likes to wear pants that end just above his ankles!  He is a valuable part of the close-knit family at the HOLD Home and we are thankful he is with us.  He is a quick learner and a good reader.  Widley is from Por

Widnelson is one of the fortunate who lives with both of his parents.  He is grateful for that.  Widnelson says he wants to be an accountant when he grows up.  That suggests that he wants to learn about managing money.  This is a good goal for him and for his country.  Widnelson says that his favorite animal is the goat.  Not sure if that is from a food perspective or because he has a pet goat.  Children like Widnelson need encouragement to see the benefits of education.  Children are growing up in a country that has an illiteracy rate of nearly 50%.  They are not being taught about the val

Wilder Jean came to our HOLD Home in the fall of 2016.  He is from Port de Paix, where the orphanage is located.  His large toothy grin will definitely warm your heart and put a smile on your face as well!  While learning the daily routines is quite a transition for this little guy, he seems to be doing well.  He now gets to attend school daily and is learning all the basics: reading, writing, and arithmetic.

Windey lives with his father and four siblings.  He does not know anything about his mother.  Windey's favorite color is yellow and his favorite subject is French.  The common language of Haiti is Creole, described as a poor man's French.  Most schools teach in French, but Creole is still the common language.  Windey wants to be a pastor when he grows up so he can tell others about Jesus' love for them.  He knows that he needs to get education to realize his goal.

Woodjerry started school in the fall of 2015. He is a good student and his favorite class is mathematics.  Someday he wants to be a lawyer.  The Creole word for Lawyer is "advocat" from which we get our word advocate.  People in Haiti need an advocate. This is one of the pillars of HOLD the Children.  We exist to be an advocate for the poor and needy of Haiti.  Haiti is a country where the poor are left to fend for themselves.   HOLD fights for the needs of the children of Haiti.  Your support through sponsorship helps bring attention to Haiti's poor.

Woodson is in High School!  He is the oldest child in our HOLD the Children Home and he joined us from the town of Mole Saint Nicholas.  Several others in the Home look up to him.  He sets a good example and helps take good care of the younger children.  While good at lending a hand in the home, Woodson is very grateful that he is not responsible for providing for himself or any of the other younger children.  In Haiti, many boys his age fend for themselves on the streets and are sometimes responsible for younger siblings.  It is not uncommon for children to carry large 5 gallon buckets for
