Jeanillia is learning her colors quickly. Her favorite is yellow. It is not uncommon for children in Haiti to be living with distant family or even friends when parents are no longer in the picture. When this is the case, there is usually little to no record of the child’s birth. Thankfully we do know Jeanillia's birthdate. We are grateful she is in school getting an education. This is the biggest key in overcoming the poverty that surrounds her.

He is a great leader at the Home – always looking after his little brother, Zachee and helping other kids as well. He is so smart and he loves school. Math is his favorite subject, but he speaks French very well and can also speak and write a little English. He likes to play soccer and his dream is to travel outside of Haiti someday. He would like to become an engineer so he can help his family – that love of math is going to come in handy!

Johnkelly is a fun loving kid; a trait not so common in Haiti. Kids take life much more seriously in Haiti, because everything is so hard. Johnkelly lives with his mother and father, another unusual circumstance. Very few children experience growing up with both their mom and dad. Johnkelly wants to be an interpreter when he grows up. He recognizes that speaking and reading in English is very valuable and can open opportunities for employment when he gets older. He also wants to be a Pastor so he can share the love of Jesus with others. The other kids in school call him "Pastor." Jo

Johnson Pierre is one of our newer additions at the HOLD Home. He joined us in the fall of 2015 and has managed to fit right in in his new home. The children there are so excited to have another friend and brother. Johnson is still a little on the shy side. He likes to practice writing and he hopes to become a Pastor so that he can serve God. We are grateful he is with us in the HOLD Home where he eats well, attends school, and has good care. Many children in Haiti look after themselves at very young ages.

Jonathon was not having a good day when the Mission Discovery team was taking photos. It is often intimidating for small children when the team arrives. Jonathan warmed up and had a great time with the team. Children start school at a very young age, mostly because they will end up having to work when they get to seven or eight. Life in Haiti is very hard. Often education is just not a priority, so we are grateful that young children come to school We are grateful for Pastor Noel and his team of teachers and administrators for their sacrifice to the children at the Onaville School.

Joubenson’s large brown eyes are hard to miss! Joubenson hasn’t been in school long, but he is getting used to the routine of his class. There are many children at the Onaville School because it is the only one in the community. Children walk there every day from miles away. Life in Haiti is hard, but we are grateful to be able to provide education for so many. Please consider sponsoring Joubenson; by doing this you will benefit the entire school and continue providing education to a population that desperately needs it.
