HOLD the Children helps support six schools in and surrounding the north coast city of Port de Paix, Haiti.  You are receiving this letter because you are a sponsor of the HOLD school located in the inner city of Port de Paix.  This school is where HOLD the Children was birthed in 2000 and currently where 429 students are registered.  I want to thank you for your years of support.  Many children have benefitted from the education enabled by your generosity and prayers.

This school is now facing a crisis and needs your help.  The Port de Paix School was evicted by the owner of the building at the end of the 2014-2015 school year.  The school had been on notice for several years by the owner that he wanted them out of his building.  As the years passed with no action, administrators became comfortable that eviction day would always be sometime in the future.  The day came when they were forced out of the building at the end of the school year in June. Now, 429 students, 10 teachers, and school administrators are scrambling to find an answer.

Pastor Philippe Ifrene, the director of the school has been desperately searching for a location for school to resume in September. A building has been located that can provide a temporary solution while a long term answer is pursued.  The building needs roof repairs before school starts.  HOLD has committed to help pay for the temporary building and roof repairs.  We need to raise $10,000 before the first of September.

First, we ask you to pray for the children, the teachers and the administrators of the school as we try to make sure they are in school in September.  Second, we need your financial help to help acquire and repair this building.  Tax deductible contributions can be sent to with your regular HOLD sponsor support or online at www.holdthechildren.org/donate. Mark donations for: PPX School Building.

Thank you for your generosity and compassion for the poor.
