Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have left a trail of devastation and catastrophic destruction in their wake.  Heartache and tragedy have touched millions of people that were in the path of these powerful storms.  Lives were lost, homes destroyed, businesses have been demolished and entire islands appear to be completely gone.  How does one recover from so much destruction?  When all is lost, where do we find comfort?  Where do we turn when our world is upside down?

Jesus said, “In this world you will have trouble.  But take heart!  I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33).  Our only answer is to turn to the one that is more powerful than Harvey or Irma.  God promises that he will never abandon us and that He will help us in times of trouble.  We are already seeing him display the generosity of people who are coming to the aid of their fellow man.  Armies of volunteers are amassing to go and do their part in the cleanup and recovery.  Many organizations like Mission Discovery are preparing to send recovery teams to help.  In a time of so much divisiveness, God will use these disasters to bring his people together.  He will bring something good from the ashes of destruction.  Each of us has an opportunity to help in the recovery.

You can give toward the Hurricane Relief Fund HERE.  Your donations will help send teams and supplies to the hurricane devastated areas.

I am happy to report that all the HOLD the Children schools were spared serious damage from the recent hurricanes.  We praise God for His protection.  Pray for your sponsor students as they have recently begun their new term.

It is also time to start preparing for our annual HOLD Schools Christmas Celebration.  Please see HERE to learn more and donate to Christmas Celebrations.  Thank you.
