April News

We recently returned from visiting our HOLD Home Orphanage in Port de Paix, Haiti.  We took a wonderful team of 15, from Bethany Church in Oklahoma, to spend time with the children and work on a few projects around the facility.  They started a fresh coat of paint on the exterior of the building and they spent most days playing with and entertaining the sweet kids in the Home.

There are 45 children living in the HOLD Home ranging in ages from 6-16.  At the end of the week, the team had a very special gift for every single child.  They brought 45 backpacks stuffed full of surprises!  Every single child in the HOLD Home received a brand new backpack with their name on it.  And inside each backpack there were socks and underwear, toiletries, toys, several outfits, sandals, tennis shoes, and the list goes on!  Every single item was brand new!!  It was better than Christmas morning.  I can’t even describe the squeals and screeches that came from each child as they opened their very own backpack and started sorting through all its contents.  In the girls room, a fashion show of all the new outfits immediately began; and over in the boys room, the sound of toy cars racing across the floor quickly filled the air- along with an overwhelming scent of men’s axe body spray!

The donations you give to HOLD the Children make moments like these possible.  We are so grateful for all you do to make a difference in the life of a child in need.  Thank you for your generosity and faithful support.
